Heavy horses can also be known as cart horses, agricultural horses, and farm horses. Heavy horses are most commonly known as a draft horse. They are large, strong horses with short and stocky legs who are raised for heavy farm work. They weigh at least 2,000 pounds and are as tall as 17 hands high. Heavy horses are usually bay, black, brown, or grey in color. Heavy horses have many powerful muscles and their shoulders are very straight so that it can support the collar. Their actions are brief, but they give as much strength to trot as they can.   Even though they weigh a lot, they are very gentle. These heavy horses were introduced to  the United States in the late 1800s.
